Over the last couple of months, I have been involved with helping to coordinate a service project. A prerequisite for graduating from Union University is to serve the community through an approved service project. Our cohort discussed a few alternatives and decided to do something for the Dream Center of Jackson, TN. As of this writing, we have put in about 60 total hours to clean, repaint, and beautify the children’s playroom and replace a bathtub in a room that was previously unusable. Upon replacement of the tub and doing the needed grouting, caulking, and tile work, this room can now be opened up for a new family to move in and utilize the space. In all, we had 15 adult college students to participate in the project. Below are a few photos taken during the process of completing this project.

Harambee 2024
So, tonight I went to a Harambee which is a Kenyan tradition rooted in community self-help. The term means “all pull together” in Swahili, Kenya’s national language. My friends, Jared and Angela Okoth were part of this local fundraiser event. They joined with another missionary couple, Robert and Jan Rodriguez, to do the event. Both…
Hebrews 13:1
Last night at Englewood Baptist Church, I felt a familiar feeling. This is a feeling, a sensation that I have felt in the past. It is an air of expectation, waiting for the powerful hand of the Lord to sweep into a congregation and reveal things that are much bigger than they expect they can…
Dr. Logan Hampton, Ministry Friend & Brother

Who is My Neighbor?
Isn’t it interesting that often the most learned among us struggle with this simple question… “who is my neighbor?” In Luke, we recall the story of the Good Samaritan as Jesus presented it to the man who was “an expert in Moses’ Teachings.” You may want to go back and read the whole story again,…
Bus Trip 2024 – Day 4 – Crazy Horse Memorial
On this leg of the trip, we visited the Crazy Horse Memorial which was an awesome thing to behold. It is huge and unfinished and a continuing reminder of the terrible way the native American peoples were treated during the formation of our country. Leaving in the sunshine… Hill City, SD… Crazy Horse Memorial
Bobby Says “Armor-Up”
Last night at the Gathering, our brother, Bobby Lewellen, shared the Word with us. His focus came from Ephesians 6:10-18 and a discussion about the armor of God. He also touched on some verses in Matthew to start his devotional thoughts. I would sum up Bobby’s message as an encouragement to put on the full…
