September 22nd, 2012… this was the day when we held our 5th annual Hispanic outreach event. It was held on the grounds of FBC Medina in cooperation with Chapel Hill BC. This ministry was birthed a few years ago when the Lord placed a need on my heart and the heart of a few other men to start a ministry to reach the Hispanic community around us in Gibson County. It is an interesting story of faith and the providence of God. This is not an easy ministry and in some ways it reminds me of Romani ministry. After Dawn and I became involved with overseas missions, this ministry was taken over by Jason & Isabel Hance. They were indeed a God-send and have done a good job shepherding this group for 5 years. On “this” day, the event was well received and we had several interesting facets included. An outstanding vocalist sang, we had 2 Hispanic pastors from the immediate area join us, and the Gideons presented Spanish New Testaments to everyone. Jason also presented a clear Gospel message to the group in their heart language. Jason, thank you and Isabel for continuing on with this ministry even through the difficult times. God will bless you for it!

Serving at RIFA
Yesterday was a good day. I changed my regular “personal ministry” day to Tuesday in order to allow me to celebrate my birthday with Dawn and eat, etc. Monday would have been my Mission Jackson fast day, but I moved it to Tuesday. That concluded my current commitment of prayer and fasting for Mission Jackson….
Reflecting on 54
My goodness, it is difficult to fathom… I am 54 years old today! Birthdays tend to cause us all to reflect on where we are in life… and where we have been. Today, I am no exception to this reflective activity! It is VERY hard to believe that this also marks 2 years since we…
Maximum Man Thursday
This mornings Bible study at Englewood Baptist Church was awesome! Nearly every Thursday morning, a group of diverse Christian men gather from all over West Tennessee to study God’s Word. Gary Taylor leads this group and has done so for over 7 years, if I remember correctly. He teaches the scripture in a clear, direct,…
Look Behind and Look Ahead
It’s here… 2024 started rather slowly and peacefully for my household. Heck, we didn’t even stay up until midnight. We usually do, but this New Year didn’t seem to have the luster of others over the last few years. I suppose Mrs. Dawn and I are really getting old(er) and not as concerned about the…
