September 22nd, 2012… this was the day when we held our 5th annual Hispanic outreach event. It was held on the grounds of FBC Medina in cooperation with Chapel Hill BC. This ministry was birthed a few years ago when the Lord placed a need on my heart and the heart of a few other men to start a ministry to reach the Hispanic community around us in Gibson County. It is an interesting story of faith and the providence of God. This is not an easy ministry and in some ways it reminds me of Romani ministry. After Dawn and I became involved with overseas missions, this ministry was taken over by Jason & Isabel Hance. They were indeed a God-send and have done a good job shepherding this group for 5 years. On “this” day, the event was well received and we had several interesting facets included. An outstanding vocalist sang, we had 2 Hispanic pastors from the immediate area join us, and the Gideons presented Spanish New Testaments to everyone. Jason also presented a clear Gospel message to the group in their heart language. Jason, thank you and Isabel for continuing on with this ministry even through the difficult times. God will bless you for it!

Reflecting on 54
My goodness, it is difficult to fathom… I am 54 years old today! Birthdays tend to cause us all to reflect on where we are in life… and where we have been. Today, I am no exception to this reflective activity! It is VERY hard to believe that this also marks 2 years since we…
The Question for Today
“If everyone in the world suddenly decided to become homosexuals, would humanity survive?“ That “is” the question that simply identifies a logical issue in our time… and the answer is “no,” by the way. We must also assume that a homosexual couple would adhere strictly to the notion that two people of the same gender…
1 Peter 5:10
Have you been there? I am sure you have. Walking through that dark place, that valley where everything seems gloomy and dim. The bright colors of joy seem to fade into many shades of despondent gray. Where is the clarity? Where is that bright future that you hear people talk about or preachers preach about?…
Bus Trip – Pittsburg
This post will feature a little commentary about our trip and tour through Pittsburg, PA. I’ll also add a photo gallery to show some of what we saw. If some of the photos look odd, it is because we did a lot of the tour from the bus, so there may be reflections and other…
Faith and New Life, Crystal Morrison
Earlier this week, I went to the funeral service of my cousin, Crystal Morrison. Even though she and I were from very different generations and not especially close, her passing hit me hard. Her father (Keith Doyle) and I were very close when we were young. During those early days, he and I were often…
Master’s Call & More
I went to an old-fashioned gospel singing jubilee on Friday night. It was a wonderful event, filled with memories and joy. Many of the artists ministering to us were old friends and I traveled around and sang with many of them… oh, let’s say… over 20 years ago. This was during the years when I…
