September 22nd, 2012… this was the day when we held our 5th annual Hispanic outreach event. It was held on the grounds of FBC Medina in cooperation with Chapel Hill BC. This ministry was birthed a few years ago when the Lord placed a need on my heart and the heart of a few other men to start a ministry to reach the Hispanic community around us in Gibson County. It is an interesting story of faith and the providence of God. This is not an easy ministry and in some ways it reminds me of Romani ministry. After Dawn and I became involved with overseas missions, this ministry was taken over by Jason & Isabel Hance. They were indeed a God-send and have done a good job shepherding this group for 5 years. On “this” day, the event was well received and we had several interesting facets included. An outstanding vocalist sang, we had 2 Hispanic pastors from the immediate area join us, and the Gideons presented Spanish New Testaments to everyone. Jason also presented a clear Gospel message to the group in their heart language. Jason, thank you and Isabel for continuing on with this ministry even through the difficult times. God will bless you for it!

Earlier this week, Dawn and I took a little trip to Kentucky to the Creation Museum. This trip had two purposes. One was to simply get away for a few days for some R&R. The other reason was to celebrate Dawn’s birthday. If you don’t know this about my dear wife, she was born on…

These photos are from the last few years. At the time of this writing (08.28.2022), Sassy is eleven years old. We are thankful that she is in good health for her age and we give thanks for her presence in our household. She truly brings much joy into our lives. When I was younger, I…

Scripture has a lot to say about the “last days” preceding the return of King Jesus. For various reasons, we seldom hear sermons about the Second Coming any more. However, when we read the warnings found in 2 Timothy, it is easy to recognize that the Day is drawing near. All you have to do…

Yes indeed, for me, it was a busy day… walking here and there, answering questions in person, on the phone, and on-line. When do the doors open? Is this really free? Do I need to register to get in? Ok, allow me to give this a little context. I am talking about the event that…
The Watchers
Since coming back from overseas, I often struggle with an old old problem. Honestly, I struggled with it before my “official” missionary service too. This problem is one of those things (ideas, notions, failings) that makes people very uncomfortable when you talk about it out loud. Let’s call it evangelistic apathy. Sunday after Sunday, thousands…
