Bus Trip 2024 – Day 6 – Mt. Rushmore

On this leg of the trip, we visited several more interesting places, including the awesome national monument and tremendous entertainment at Fort Hays.

Raw beauty… history, Fort Hays, and Mt. Rushmore

  • Depart for Fort Hays in Rapid City where we meet a step-on guide to take us to the Borglum Historical Center in Keystone
  • Mount Rushmore National Memorial, enjoy free time to view the monument, walk the trail and have lunch
  • Custer State Park, enjoy the Wildlife Loop Road, which offers a wide variety of experiences from open grasslands to rolling hills. Many of the park’s wildlife species can be seen and include buffalo, bighorn sheep, antelope, deer, elk, coyote, prairie dog, and numerous birds. This 18-mile stretch of road offers incredible views. The guided tour ends back at Fort Hays
  • back at Fort Hays, enjoy dinner and entertainment. Take time to browse the Dances with Wolves film set and the Fort Hays Workshops. Then enjoy a Chuckwagon-style dinner and entertainment by the Fort Hays Rockin Wranglers
