On Saturday, June 2nd, there was a community event in the area close to our mission church. This event was called “Ghetto Fest” and it was designed to allow the minority community of Brno enjoy their culture through music and fellowship. I believe that the event was also designed to encourage Roma people and their Czech neighbors to come together in mutual respect. During this day, our mission church, which is made up mostly of Roma believers, partnered with the local Salvation Army to offer a spiritual aspect to the festivities. We set up the room where we usually have church services as a community coffee house. A wonderful musical group which works with the Salvation Army came and sang traditional Roma worship music and shared testimony about how God can change the lives of all who will come to Him with open hearts and minds. The panorama above was taken from the outside of the building where we gathered. The pictures below are from different locations around the area where the event was held.
