My goodness, last evening I had an opportunity to join some old friends and travel to South Fulton, Tennessee to sing to a group of people for a special occasion. Our friend Pastor Ron Cox invited the “Kindred Spirits” to come and present a concert to the annual deacons / widow & widower banquet. They were very kind to us and we had a blast. Many moons ago, I traveled with this Southern Gospel group singing baritone… for 20 years! The group as is pictured below hasn’t been assembled in over 6 years… if memory serves me well. We sang a lot of old songs and I think the folks who listened enjoyed it too. Below are some photos from the day. Oh, and in case you are not familiar with us… the group consists of Dale and Christi Denning, myself and Danny King. Danny is the taller one on the end 🙂

May the Circle Be Unbroken
Prayer is a powerful thing. Indeed it is! For several months now, I have had opportunities to join a local “prayer circle” in the Jackson area. This group of diverse believers and concerned community people generally gather each Thursday morning at 10am to pray for a school, civic group, or other nonprofit entity. I’ll add…

CEF, CYIA, & Hope for the Future
In my world, the Christian community specifically, there is a lot of negative commentary these days about how the youth of our country have become mouthpieces for a culture of corruption and rebelliousness. Honestly, some of that commentary is well deserved. Let us remember though, that rebellion and “fighting against the man” has been a…

Professor Poppy is awesome! He is also a good friend and brother in Christ. His real name is Brent Varner, and he started doing Gospel Illusions over two years ago, if memory serves me well. Last night, he presented his show at Poplar Heights Baptist Church in Jackson, TN. Poplar Heights is another special place…
Sassy Doing the Crazy Run
Here is a short video clip from the backyard of our current abode where little Sassy enjoys running and playing. I am not sure if this is a common thing for little dogs but our dog back home, Candy the Eskie, did the same thing when she was a younger pup. They get excited and…
